As President & COO, Josh Carson oversees the company’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations across Rausch Companies’ diverse portfolio (Calara Land Development, Rosedale Communities, Missio Capital, EnergyWorks). Since joining the company in 2018, he has been a driving force behind its most significant transactions, leading the legal strategy and negotiation for deals including Lennar’s acquisition of Rausch Coleman Homes. He served as the company’s first in-house general counsel, a role created to navigate the complex regulatory landscape across the six states and more than 40 municipalities Rausch Coleman Homes operated in.
In his role, Josh works closely with leadership across the Rausch family of brands to guide the company’s growth and long-term vision. He is also a principal of EnergyWorks, the company’s oil and gas division, which in 2026 became the largest Arkansas-based oil and gas operator following its acquisition of 731 natural gas wells.
Before joining Rausch, Josh spent more than eight years as a partner at the law firm Jones, Jackson, Moll, McGinnis & Stocks, where he led the firm’s work for Rausch Coleman Homes, a relationship that grew out of a family connection spanning more than three decades. He advised clients on real estate and construction banking matters, and he co-founded EnergyWorks, an oil and gas exploration company, in 2008, work that earned him a spot on the Tulsa Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list in 2010.
Josh graduated with highest honors from the University of Tulsa College of Law and is a member of the Washington County and Arkansas State Bar Associations. In 2024, he was appointed by the Mayor of Fayetteville to the City’s Housing Crisis Task Force, where he partnered with fellow members to develop a set of policy measures aimed at increasing the city’s housing supply, work that fed into the city’s Housing Action Plan when the task force concluded in 2025.
Josh lives in Fayetteville with his wife and their two daughters. He is active in his local church and serves on the board of the Cross Theological Seminary at Cross Church.
